Brunswick County property owners and residents may bring items, except for household trash and land clearing debris, to the Landfill in Bolivia free of charge September 15th – 20th.

Commercial vehicles will be charged normal tipping fees. You must show proof of Brunswick County property ownership or residency. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Household Hazardous Waste & Clothing Collection

The Brunswick County Solid Waste Department will be at South Brunswick Middle School, 100 Cougar Drive, Southport, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 20th to collect household hazardous waste. Items will be taken free of charge from Brunswick County property owners or residents. You must show proof of Brunswick County property ownership or residency.

Some items that are accepted at the HHW collection are various paints, stains, insecticides, herbicides, household cleaners, pool chemicals, aerosol cans and clothing. All clothing will be donated to charity.

All items brought to the event must be labeled. The staff onsite reserves the right to refuse any item brought to the event.

Electronics, latex paints, fluorescent bulbs, automotive fluids and batteries are not included in the HHW & Clothing Collection. They are recycled year round at the Brunswick County Landfill. There is no charge for this service.
