The Holden Beach Turtle Patrol has seen a worryingly high rate of false crawls during this 2010 season. If you happen to see a Turtle on Holden Beach, be sure to follow these steps.

Four college kids from Chicago were surprised and amazed on Tuesday, June 1st, when they stumbled upon a giant Leatherback Turtle while walking down the beach.

As of June 29th, the Holden Beach Turtle Watch Program has recorded ten nests on the beach with 1,028 known eggs. These eggs account for eight out of the ten nests on the island that had to be moved to safer locations. The two other nests were safe, so their eggs weren’t moved and counted.
