Pickleball. We have it, but what is it?

Pickleball is a relatively unknown sport that has become increasingly popular across the country.  But what is it?  Well, it’s a bit like tennis, a bit like racquetball and a lot of fun.

It was invented by Joel Pritchard and his family in Bainbridge Island, Washington.  The family was bored one summer evening in 1965.  They didn’t have all the equipment to play badminton, so they improvised.

That improvisation led to the first game of Pickleball!

The multipurpose court at Bridgeview Park is open for Pickleball play and equipment can be borrowed from town hall FOR FREE!
