Small Business Saturday: Nov. 27

“For every year over the last decade, 60%-80% of new jobs were generated by small businesses.”  U.S. Small Business Administration

Small businesses are the heartbeat of the Holden Beach community and economy.  This month we’re asking locals and visitors to  explore some of the small, locally owned businesses in the Holden Beach area.
Saturday November 27, 2010 is the first-ever Small Business SaturdaySM.  It is a day to come together in support of the small businesses we love. The shops and restaurants that employ our neighbors and reinvest our money close to home.
What is Small Business Saturday?
More than a dozen advocacy, public, and private organizations are joining American Express OPEN, the company’s small business unit, in declaring the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday.

If you’re a local business owner, you can get involved to promote your business and receive up to $100 in free advertising.  Visit Small Business Saturday for more information.

Josh is a primary contributor to the Holden Beach Community Blog, focusing on sharing local news and event information with locals and visitors. He grew up at Holden Beach working for family businesses. As a kid, you could have found him riding his bike to old Jeff's Grocery for a few candy treats or working the checkout counter at Beach Mart.
