Town News: Board of Commissioners Meeting

The Town of Holden Beach monthly meeting will be held this Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Town Hall at 7:00 PM. There will be two unique agenda items.

Last week the two homes at 113 and 115 Starfish Drive burned, along with some boats and boat trailers on the adjacent lot at 117 Starfish Drive. As a follow up and review of this emergency I called for a meeting of the Town’s mayor, police chief, building inspector and the fire chief. Chief Doug Todd will be at the board meeting to give an overview of the fire and what was done. No one was injured. The fire chief is in charge of all such emergencies.

Secondly, the commissioners will elect the mayor tempore after the five commissioners and mayor have been sworn to serve. Sandy Miller, Ray Lehr, Sheila Young, Don Glander, and Dennis Harrington will serve as commissioners while I, Alan Holden will serve as Mayor.

Refreshments will be served at the end of the meeting. The public is invited.
