Lockwood Folly Dredging Project
January 11, 2011

The US Army Corps of Engineers’ contractor, Cottrell Dredging Company will begin maintenance dredging operations of the Lockfolly Folly Inlet Crossing on or about Monday. Mobilization of both land and sea assets have already begun. Heavy equipment will be on the beach and industrial operations will last about two to three weeks on the east end of the island. Please be aware that dredging operations are inherently dangerous. In order to ensure your safety it is recommended you maintain a minimum distance of 500 feet from any and all equipment.
