Town News: Sowing Sea Oats

Town of Holden Beach
Press Release – “Sowing Sea Oats

Coastal Transplants has started harvesting seeds from the most robust crop of sea oat we have had in a long time. The seedlings that will propagate from these seeds will provide plant stock for next season’s vegetative cover planting.

If you see them out on the beach, please be advised that they are the designated erosion control contractor for the Town. Don’t be alarmed if you see them on the dunes. Harvesting sea oat seeds is a vital part of the Town’s beach management plan.
