Town Newsletter 6/21: Turtle Time & Volunteers Needed

Children’s Turtle Time

The Holden Beach Turtle Patrol is offering Children’s Turtle Time on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. at the Holden Beach Town Hall.  The events run through the month of July.

This program features crafts, stories and activities for children ages 3 – 6 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The program is free of charge.

Don’t forget that Turtle Talk runs every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Holden Beach Town Hall throughout the summer. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is limited.

This free educational program provides information about the Turtle Patrol, sea turtles and how people can help the sea turtles that nest on Holden Beach.

For more information on Children’s Turtle Time, Turtle Talk and the Holden Beach Turtle Patrol visit their website at www.hbturtlewatch.org.

Volunteers Needed

The Town is in need of volunteers to fill vacancies on the Board of Adjustment and Planning & Zoning Board.

If you are a resident of the Town and interested in serving, you can fill out a resume form. Forms can be emailed to heather@hbtownhall.com or dropped off at Town Hall.

We are also in need of volunteers for our Evacuation Teams. Team members assist in communicating information during emergency situations by visiting houses in each established zone as directed by the Emergency Management Director. Send your name, address and telephone number to heather@hbtownhall.com if you are interested or have any questions.

Josh is a primary contributor to the Holden Beach Community Blog, focusing on sharing local news and event information with locals and visitors. He grew up at Holden Beach working for family businesses. As a kid, you could have found him riding his bike to old Jeff's Grocery for a few candy treats or working the checkout counter at Beach Mart.
