Town News: 4th of July Message

From the Mayor’s Desk

The Town of Holden Beach wishes everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. Please be mindful of safety precautions as everyone seeks enjoyment this special holiday.

Fireworks are prohibited everywhere on the island. Please be aware of their danger, not only to humans, but to our wildlife as well. The many birdhouses being enjoyed by purple martins, blue birds, sparrows, etc. may be abandoned when fireworks are nearby. We are also having a great turtle nesting year.

This holiday is expected to bring a “full house” to this island for the entire week. Let us all be safe, happy, friendly and appreciate this wonderful country in which we live and we are proud to call home.
